The interiors boast four-poster beds, hand-made patchwork quilts, steamer-trunk wardrobes, brass lamps and sepia photographs. To the rear of each tent is an elegant mahogany-panelled bathroom with twin marble washstands, polished brass fittings and classic black-and-white tiled Edwardian shower and lavatory.

The migration comes with its own retinue, and the predators - lion, leopard and cheetah plus countless zebra, gazelle and other plains game add to a diverse eco-system that evolves around you during your stay.
